Facebook’s long-awaited update to its post scheduler

One of the handy things I like about Facebook Pages is the ability to schedule posts in advance. This feature received an update this week:

Facebook’s long-awaited update to its post scheduler

Whereas previously, you had to use 4 or 5 dropdown menus to pick the day, month, year, hour, and minute, Facebook swapped that all out for a visual date picker and a blank field for choosing custom times.

Most of the social media work I do for my clients requires me to keep track of the days of the week content is posted rather than the actual dates. This makes it much easier.

Plus, if you’re scheduling several posts at once—which I usually do—it remembers the date and time you chose for your previous scheduled post. This is a very handy feature.

What do you think of the update? Do you think it needs other improvements?

  1. I like that it lets you type in exact times now. In the past, when you could only choose time in 10-minute increments, I thought it would be more obvious that posts were scheduled.
