7.02 Spacing: obliques

No space before or after an oblique when used between individual words, letters or symbols; one space before and after the oblique when used between longer groups that contain internal spacing:

  1. I wonder what you’re supposed to do if you have a single word on one side, but a phrase (with internal spacing) on the other. Is there any clear direction on that?

  2. Good question. It doesn’t say specifically, but two examples in 7.55 show it as: [word]/[two words].
